"e-scape" is a film by Stephen with literary inspiration from Gladys Taber, Jack Kerouac, Mary Oliver, Robert Finch, and Alan Dugan. It was screened at the International Literary Film Festival in NYC, November 2011.

Stephen Ausherman, writer, filmmaker.

Stephen Ausherman was an artist-in-residence for Cape Cod National Seashore, Massachusetts (2010), Blue Sky Project in Woodstock, Illinois (2008), and Cornucopia Art Center in Lanesboro, Minnesota (2007). In 2008 he received a New Visions Award in experimental film from the New Mexico Film Office. He also served as the 2005 writer-in-residence for Bernheim Forest, Kentucky; Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming; and Buffalo National River, Arkansas. Ausherman's books include 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles: Albuquerque (2008), the novel Fountains of Youth (2006), and the collection of travel stories Restless Tribes (2004).
